Audio interviews about Social Hiking

Over the last couple of weeks I have done interviews about Social Hiking – for The Outdoors Station and BBC Radio Northampton.

The Outdoors Station is an award winning podcast series with thousands of listeners around the world interested in all aspects of outdoor life. Andy Howell (who blogs at Must Be This Way), from The Outdoors Station, came to visit me in Northamptonshire for the day – after a few hours wondering around Salcey Forest having quite a geeky conversation about social media and mobile apps in the outdoors industry, we recorded the interview, which covers Social Hiking, open data and social media outdoors.

You can listen to the podcast at

“Today the outdoors world has it’s own social network – Social Hiking”

It was great meeting Andy at last, and thanks go to both Andy and Bob the editor of The Outdoors Station.

Following on from that, I was invited into BBC Radio Northampton (my local BBC radio station) to do an interview with John Griff on the afternoon show. The audience is slightly different, but the interview gives some details on the history of Social Hiking and what it is.

You can listen to the interview (for the next 5 days before it disappears into the archive) at (if you want to skip straight to the interview, it starts 15 minutes in).

Thanks to Willy, Jordan and John from BBC Radio Northampton.  It was my first ever experience of both a live interview and a radio studio, so I took the opportunity to get a few photos!
